[April 2017] JPO Status Report

The JPO recently released its Status Report 2017, a compilation of statistical information that provides a highly detailed look into the current state of IP in Japan.

The Status Report, published in alternating Japanese and English, is a richly informative document covering everything from the companies that registered the most patents in Japan (Panasonic took first place in 2016, with 4,276 patents registered) to the total number of international applications the JPO received in 2016 (44,495 PCT applications, a record number for the Office).
