For last month’s INTA annual meeting in Barcelona, Spain, the Five Trademark Offices (TM5; the patent offices of Japan, the U.S., Europe, China, and Korea), led by the Japan Patent Office, compiled case examples of bad-faith trademark filings for use in a workshop for trademark users.

The “Case Examples of Bad-Faith Trademark Filings” document (click here to download) contain case examples disputed in courts, summaries of decisions or rules, and tables comparing the systems and practices of each of the five offices, and is expected to be “useful for deepening users’ understanding of cases of Bad Faith and the respective responses by the Five Trademark Offices, advancing the formulation of trademark strategies.”
